Wandering Aimlessly
The Purpose-Driven Life is a remarkable book. Well, OK, I haven't actually read it. I've only got one life, and it's much too short for that! But I did start on page 22 and read half way through page 24, and that's more than enough for a fair evaluation.
Let's start with this:
You are not an accident.
Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He was not surprised by your birth. In fact, he expected it.
[More of the same, left out because I just got sick of typing.]
God prescribed every single detail of your body. He deliberately chose your race, the color of your skin, your hair, and every other feature. He custom-made your body just the way he wanted it.
Really? Just the way he wanted it? Funny guy, that God of Abraham. He puts all that thought into each and every one of us but makes it look just exactly like everything happened according to the laws of chance. You know that long hair that grows out of a mole on your grandma's chin? That seems pretty random. Did God plan that?! Personally, I've seen better work.
God never does anything accidentally, and he never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything he creates. Every plant and every animal was planned by God, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind.
Well there you have it. God doesn't make mistakes. He just doesn't, that's all.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
How's that for a mistake?! That seems like a pretty big boner to me! He needed a massive flood to clean up the mess!

Yes, yes, and yes. Coming from me, Roman (Karenin) who has been living on this wondeful planet without a purpose since 1972. Correct, you heard me. I do not have any purpose. And do you know what else? There is no purpose in life. ARe you still looking for that Meaning? Well, in vain. There is no Meaning.
Johnny makes a great grand entry into the life of blogging. Johnny, I applaud very loudly!
Guys, live you own life to its fullest: Weave the Pattern of Life. When it will be time to die, that pattern will reveal the meaning of the life you lived.
